
Maxime Dubois was born in Alma, QC, Canada. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Laval University in 1991. He obtained a cum laude doctorate from Technological University of Delft, in the Netherlands in 2004. Since 2004, he has been a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at Laval University and, between 2011 and 2018 at the Université de Sherbrooke. He specializes in electromechanical conversion, electrical machines and power electronics applied to renewable energies, electric vehicles and energy storage. Before starting his academic career, Dr. Dubois worked in the industry for 10 years, in the electrical transportation and wind energy sectors, mainly as a power electronics design engineer. He is the founder of EocycleTechnologies, a company that designs and manufactures medium-sized wind turbines. He was also involved in founding the company AddÉnergie Technologies, which designs and manufactures the charging stations installed on the Electric Circuit in Quebec.
Dr. Dubois has been a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec since 1993 and a member of the International Society of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has published more than 80 articles in scientific journals and international conference proceedings and holds 6 international patents.
